Today is New Year's Eve, and we have big plans. Well, big plans for OLD people anyhow. We've got a couple of families coming over for Game Night. We're breaking out the board games and the Wii. We're having snacks and fondue. It should be a good time. I'll be ecstatic if I make it to midnight, but, like I said, we're old.
I didn't realize how old I was until this weekend. We took our peanut sledding at Grandma and Grandpa's house. At the end of their secondary driveway is a tree. We thought it was far enough away to not cause any sledding problems, and it didn't for our daughter. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that it's too close for grownups. I went flying down the hill, the sled rode up the side of the trunk, and I went tumbling head over heels into the snow. I wrenched my back, neck, and shoulder, and my arm slammed into the trunk. I just don't bounce back the same way I did when I was 16 years old. Oh well, it's fun to have the chance to be a kid again. It's amazing all of the things I've been missing out on in the last few years.
